SEO Change Ledger is operated by Valdura Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom. This policy describes exactly what the app reads, what it stores, and for how long.
The app requests three read-only Shopify permissions and nothing else:
read_products — product and collection handles, their Liquid template names, and whether they are published to the online store.
read_content — page and blog handles and their template names.
read_themes — the list of themes and a checksum for each theme file, used to identify which theme edit caused an SEO change.
The app has no access to customers, orders, payments, prices or inventory. It cannot read them, and it does not ask to.
The app fetches a small number of your public storefront pages on a schedule — one representative page per theme template, not your whole catalogue — and records only the SEO-relevant markup: canonical tags, robots directives, page titles, meta descriptions, structured data, headings, internal link counts and hreflang tags.
Prices, stock levels and review scores are deliberately discarded before storage. These pages are public: the app sees exactly what any visitor or search engine sees.
If you choose to connect Google Search Console, the app requests the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly for the properties you select.
It is used for one purpose: after the app repairs a page, it reads impressions, clicks and click-through rate for that page before and after the repair, so you can see whether the repair worked. The app never modifies Search Console data and never submits sitemaps. You can disconnect Google at any time from the app settings, which deletes the stored token immediately.
Stored data is limited to your store domain, the list of monitored URLs, the SEO markup snapshots described above, the changes detected between them, the theme or app event each change is attributed to, and any repairs applied.
Retention follows your plan: 7 days on Free, 90 days on Starter, 365 days on Pro. Older records are deleted automatically.
If you provide an alert email address, it is used only to send you change notifications and is deleted when you clear it or uninstall.
When you uninstall, Shopify notifies the app and your session is deleted immediately. All remaining data for your store is deleted when Shopify sends the shop redaction request, which is 48 hours after uninstall. You can also request deletion at any time by emailing the address below.
The app does not sell, rent or share your data. It is not used for advertising, profiling or training machine-learning models. Data is processed only by the app itself and its hosting and email providers, acting on our instructions.
Data is stored on servers in Germany (EU). Email notifications are delivered through a third-party email provider.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time. Requests are answered within 30 days.
